About The Artist:
Hello!Taylor Havrilla is a writer, director, and independent filmmaker based in Philadelphia. As a Northeast Philly native, she loves creating stories about social issues based in her hometown. She attended Temple University, where she received her Bachelor’s in Film and Media Arts. She is currently working on a dramedy TV series based on her experience attending Catholic school.
Artist Statement
Growing up, all I ever wanted was to create things. As I became a teenager, the passion turned into an outlet. Writing allowed me to not just feel the burdens of trauma, but to accept them. Most of my work focuses on social issues I saw in my Catholic community in Philly, predominantly sexual assault issues. I want to create things that survivors resonate with, and for those who don’t know the burden, to gain a little bit of an understanding.
